Swimming:

  • In Year 4, children have approximately sixteen swimming lessons over the course of a term. They will need a swimming costume or trunks and a towel

Please label all clothing as the school cannot accept responsibility for lost property. If unnamed, it is extremely difficult to ensure lost property gets back to its original owner.

Children should come to school each day properly equipped with:

  • Home School Diary
  • Reading book
  • Refillable, named water bottle
  • No jewellery other than one pair of small ear studs
  • No makeup or nail varnish to be worn
  • Long hair should be tied back securely with a hair band
  • Hair accessories should be simple and  in school colours, black, green or white only
  • Hair styles should be smart and sensible. Brooksward does not permit extreme haircuts that could serve as a distraction to other children. Eg. Mowhawk style,  shaved patterns, coloured braids or beads, large bows.

Reading Bags and PE Bags:

  • These are available to purchase from the school office

Failure to comply with the school policy:

  • In the first instance, the child will be spoken to regarding the reason for their lack of uniform or PE kit and, should the need arise, parents will be spoken to also.
  • Parents will be asked to bring in correct uniform or have resolved this by the following day.
  • Should this not be possible, or should parents refuse, then the children will be offered alternative uniform/PE kit supplied by the school.
  • Students who wear make-up/nail varnish or jewellery will be required to remove these.
  • Persistent and defiant non-compliance with the policy will result in an appropriate sanction in line with the schools behaviour policy.
