At Brooksward School, our School Council is a dedicated team of 14 pupils representing every year group from Foundation Stage to Year 6. The council provides children with the opportunity to share their ideas, represent the views of their classmates, and play an active role in improving our school community. Miss Parris supports the School Council by helping to organise meetings, facilitate discussions, and coordinate events and initiatives that benefit both the school and the wider community.
Members of the School Council are elected through a democratic process. Children who wish to become councilors present their ideas to their class, explaining why they would like the role and how they hope to make a positive difference to the school. During Election Week, each class votes for the candidate they feel will best represent their views, ensuring every pupil has a voice in selecting their representative.
