British Values Statement
The Department for Education requires schools “to promote fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.” At Brooksward, we are committed to promoting and fostering these fundamental values as an instrinsic part of our curriculum offer.
We focus on the Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural development of all pupils and promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, liberty, respect and tolerance through a regular variety of assemblies and experiences throughout the school year. We encourage all members of our learning community to meet and support our high expectations.
The Government set out its definition of British values in the 2011 Prevent Strategy, Here at Brooksward, British Values are reinforced through our day to day activities in and around the school. This document explains this in more detail
